Every Medirest menu is built on the latest NHS England Healthcare Food and Drink Standards and Mental Health Dietetic Guidance. We are proud to hold NHS Catering Exemplar Status across a number of our contracts and regularly engage with committees to work toward shaping the future of food in healthcare.

Connected systems
Behind each meal is a system that ensures safety and compliance. Our integrated meal-ordering platform, connects live patient data with menu management. Linked to Patient Administration Systems, it blocks allergen-incompatible meals automatically, streamlines ordering and lightens clinical workloads.
Award winning chefs
Innovation comes to life through our people. In 2025, Medirest chefs at Royal Surrey Hospital, Alejandro and Manuela, won NHS Chef of the Year, taking home both the Plant-Based Award for their Lentil Cottage Pie and the overall title with their Gnocchi dish, now proudly served across our winter menus. Their journey from competition winners to in-house apprentices is an incredible story of professional growth.

Inspiring industry change
We proudly support Sophie’s Legacy, an initiative that provides free meals to parents and carers of children in hospital. Since March 2025, we have delivered more than 14,000 meals, offering comfort and warmth when it’s needed most.
